Phongsaphat (Matthew) is a loving and thoughtful child.  When his parents separated, he chose to stay with his mother which was the best choice as his father abandoned his children and provides no support to help them survive. Matthew is deeply saddened that his father has done this and struggles with abandonment issues, sometimes becoming very quiet. He does well enough in school but our hope is that he does much better so that he can have a better future.   He likes playing football with his friends and dreams of becoming a professional football player.
