Paw Lay is an ethnic Karen. She lives with her parents and a younger sister in extreme poverty. She is shy and reserved. At home, she actively assists her mother with household chores. In her free time, she enjoys drawing, and she dreams of becoming a merchant. She tends to tire easily and occasionally experiences heart palpitations. She hopes to receive a scholarship to get tutoring to study Thai to prepare for the new school year. She was born in Thailand, but her birth was never officially registered. This was initially due to complications with her father’s employer. After moving to live with her grandmother, the family intended to resolve her documentation status; however, all relevant records were tragically lost when her grandmother’s belongings were burned following her passing. Due to these severe challenges, she is seeking scholarship support. This assistance is vital to ensure she can access formal education develop literacy skills, and improve her quality of life.
